Root Canal Therapy

Endodontics, or root canal therapy, is a dental treatment used to clear out infection or disease when it impacts the inner tooth. When an abscess, inflammation or infection puts pressure on the nerve roots in a tooth, it can be very painful. If not treated, some tooth infections can lead to loss of the tooth. At Horizon Dental Care, we offer gentle root canal therapy to stop tooth pain and protect the health of your teeth.

Endodontics refers to caring for the inner portion of the tooth, which are the pulp and nerves within the root canal. When decay or infection reach this inner portion of the tooth, the nerves can be damaged and need removal to stop the pain. The procedure is often referred to as simply a root canal, which is the area of the tooth that is excavated during the treatment.

Root Canals Offers Pain Relief for Infected Teeth!

Root canals have received notoriety as being painful, but in truth, this procedure is what stops the pain. Root canal therapy removes the nerve roots and the infected tooth material from inside the tooth’s canal. The canal is disinfected and packed with a sterilized material, then sealed. The tooth may be tender after the procedure, but the source of the severe pain will be gone.

There is no reason to fear a root canal when you come to Horizon Dental Care. We will make sure you are relaxed and comfortable while we perform your root canal. While it is not necessary, we do have sedation options available if you want a higher level of relaxation during your procedure.

If you have severe tooth pain, you may have an infected tooth that needs root canal therapy. Contact Horizon Dental Care to schedule an exam or treatment. Most dental insurance plans are accepted at our offices, and we have financing options available.
