Your New Patient Experience is designed to get you better acquainted with all we offer, as well as introduce you to our caring staff. We are dedicated to caring for your oral health and well-being, and take the time to create personalized treatment for each patient. It is our goal to make your visit with us an extremely pleasant one, and to send you home with a beautiful and healthy smile.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Paperwork
When you arrive for your first appointment, you'll have some paperwork to fill out. We ask that you come 15 minutes early to allow time to fill out your paperwork. Or, you can access the New Patient Packet below if you'd like to fill out your paperwork before you arrive.
Comprehensive Exam
On your first visit, you will meet with Dr. McDuffie to talk about your medical and dental histories. If you have any oral health concerns or fears, you can feel comfortable sharing them with him. Your comfort is important to us, so we encourage you to ask questions. Next, we will take intra-oral photos and digital x-rays of your teeth. Dr. McDuffie will examine your teeth, gums, and mouth, and explain to you whether or not you will require any dental treatment.
Note: There's a good reason why you probably won't receive a teeth cleaning at your first appointment: Each new patient relationship often starts with an initial exam so your dental team can understand your needs and concerns first, then tailor your hygiene treatment to you. This way, you’ll get the most out of your cleaning appointments and the time and attention you deserve.
Treatment Plans
Dr. McDuffie will discuss the comprehensive dental treatment plan he developed specifically for you. Your treatment plan is designed to prevent small issues from getting bigger and more expensive, so it will address the problems that are bothering you now and may also identify others that could impact your long-term oral health. After you’ve talked with Dr. McDuffie, your Treatment Coordinator will answer any questions or concerns you might have, including the payment and scheduling options available to you. Your questions are always welcome and you always have the final say in your treatment.
