Our Services

Here at Lakeview Dental Associates, P.C. we are committed to promoting your oral and general health.

Did you know that most Cardiovascular Disease (heart attack, stroke, atherosclerosis, etc.) can actually be directly attributed to the health of your mouth?

The vast majority of people, who experience these life changing events, can attribute them to poor oral health.  Inflammation in your mouth spreads throughout your body. Inflammation is important to heal from injury, but it can also cause a cascade of harmful effects.  The more inflammation you have, the more likely you are to develop a blood clot that can lead to heart attack, stroke, and pulmonary embolism, which are all life threatening.  It exacerbates arthritis and other auto-immune disorders such as Lupus.  It makes a diabetic have a harder time controlling blood sugar.  Generalized inflammation in your body also shortens life span.  When you have gingivitis or periodontal disease you have uncontrolled inflammation.  This is why it is important to have regular professional cleanings.  There is a natural build-up of calculus or tartar, which are fancy words for calcified plaque. This cannot be removed by normal tooth brushing. This buildup is what the dental hygienist removes at cleanings. Regular dental check-ups also allow small problems to be caught early.  This prevents the loss of healthy tooth structure and can also prevent expensive dental procedures.

We would love to help you promote your oral and general health by scheduling you for a professional cleaning and exam.  This is a great way to achieve your goal of a healthy body and beautiful smile!

Good oral health is important no matter what your age.  Professional cleanings help remove plaque and tartar from your teeth and give your dentist the opportunity to check for tooth decay, gum disease and other oral and systemic diseases.  Some hard to diagnose medical problems can be directly attributed to undiagnosed dental disease.  Discover why it's important to get regular check-ups, even if your teeth aren't bothering you.
