What Is Botox?
Botox is an injectable that uses clostridium botulinum, a type of neurotoxin that relaxes the muscles to smooth away and reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. These injections provide results in about 3-4 days and results can last up to six months.

- Forehead wrinkles

- Crow’s feet (lines around the eyes)
lines (lines around the nose and mouth)
How Is Botox Used For Dentistry?
While Botox is best known for the anti-aging and cosmetic benefits it offers, we would be remiss if we didn’t discuss the other health benefits and ways in which Botox can address certain issues we see in our office regularly. For example, Botox can be used to treat TMJ and teeth grinding. By injecting Botox into the muscles of the jaws, we can relax these tense, stiff muscles to make jaw movements such as talking and chewing easier and less painful.
Did you just get fitted with new dentures? We understand that it can take time to adjust to your new teeth and you may feel a little discomfort. Botox can be a great way to alleviate some of that facial pain, whether you’re getting used to a new oral prosthetic like dentures or you just got braces. This can be a great option for those whose pain isn’t being properly managed through over-the-counter pain relievers.
can also be an alternative option for those with gummy smiles. If a
large portion of your gums are exposed when you smile (known as a
high lip line), Botox is used on these facial muscles to lower the
lip. This can be an incredibly easy and cost-effective option as
compared to surgery to correct the issue.
