Our Doctors

Dr. Abby Hailand is originally from Kansas City; however, she attended St. Louis University for undergrad where she first discovered her love for the city of St. Louis. As a former shooting guard for the Division 1 Billiken’s women’s basketball team, Dr. Hailand learned the value of hard work and preparation. Now instead of working for sports championships, she is working for your winning smile.

After graduating from SLU, Dr. Hailand moved back to Kansas City where she attended Dental School at The University of Missouri-Kansas City. After her graduation from UMKC, Dr. Hailand moved to Chicago to be with her now husband, Arthur Hailand, who was born and raised in St. Louis. While in Chicago, Dr. Hailand was an associate dentist at Webster Dental Care, one of the largest, privately-owned dental practices in Illinois.

In February of 2021, Dr. Hailand moved back to Saint Louis to join Dr. Taylor as his new partner at Geyer Dental. You may also see her husband, Arthur, at the office helping our management team and assisting with day-to-day operations.

Dr. Hailand has extensive experience in all aspects of family dental care and her goal is to create long-lasting patient relationships based on trust, honesty and quality care. Dr. Hailand believes in a compassionate approach to dentistry, taking the time with each patient to formulate a treatment plan that best suits each individual’s needs.

While not in the office, you will most likely find Dr. Hailand and her husband volunteering at the Humane Society, trying new restaurants and bars across the city or playing golf. 

Dr. Walters grew up in Mt. Vernon, IL and attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville where he graduated with a biology degree in three years. During his time there, he ran cross-country/track and field for two years as a walk-on. Dr. Walters stayed in the area to attend Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. Since then, he has had the privilege of treating many communities in Illinois and Missouri.

Dr. Walters enjoys treating people with thought and care as each person and their individual needs are unique. Having experienced his share of dental work, he strives to provide thorough and gentle treatment in a nonjudgmental manner.

When he isn’t spending time with his family or relaxing with a show, Dr. Walters enjoys exercising through running and Korean Sword Martial Arts. He also has been a community orchestra member for over 11 years, where he plays violin. As a person who has trained and rehearsed with groups in different environments, he is looking forward to taking care of the community with the Geyer Dental team.

Dr. Matt Puchta was born in Warsaw, Poland and moved to the United States when he was 3 years old. Growing up, his father’s service to the USAF gave him and his brother the opportunity to live in various places such as Virginia, Texas, and Germany.

He graduated cum laude from the University of Texas at San Antonio with international honors, spending a semester studying abroad in London. He then went on to study at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry where he graduated with restorative and prosthodontic distinctions.

Dr. Matt spent the next 5 years providing care to underserved communities in Central Kentucky and Northern Wisconsin before settling down in STL with his wife, Jessi.
 
In his free time, Dr. Matt in an avid biker and snowboarder, and loves spending his time outdoors. He enjoys cooking and smoking BBQ.  He closely follows the San Antonio Spurs and UK basketball teams, and is excited to join the St. Louis Cardinals and Blues fan base!
