Your First Visit to Our Dental Office in Beaver Dam

Our practice is committed to providing you and your family with safe, gentle, and state-of-the-art dental care. We understand that you, or your child, may feel anxious about visiting the dentist; you are not alone, and our practice puts forth an extra effort to make sure that you are comfortable and happy every time you visit our practice. We are sensitive to your needs as a patient; you can always count on receiving individual attention from our doctor and staff.

Your first visit is all about you – your comfort, your happiness, and your dental health.

Your first visit with Dr. Eaton includes:

  • A review of your complete dental and medical history forms
  • Complete X-rays of your teeth and mouth
  • An oral exam – Dr. Eaton's office will make sure your teeth and gums are healthy, and check for any cavities or early signs of tooth decay
  • Oral Cancer Screening with Oral ID

Once Dr. Eaton has reviewed your dental and medical health history forms, and completed your dental exam, he will provide you with a dental consultation, and information about any additional dental treatments you, or your child, may need. During this time Dr. Eaton will also answer any questions you may have. Dr. Eaton and his staff welcome any questions you may have, and are always available to listen to your concerns.

Bring your smile; but also remember to bring these things with you to your first dental appointment:

The Details of Your First Visit

Your first visit to the doctor typically includes an X-ray that allows the doctor to view the structure of the jaw, the position of any teeth that have not yet erupted, malformed roots, and tooth decay.

The initial visit also involves getting your medical history. When you share your medical history with the doctor, be sure to provide complete, up-to-date information on your health. Inform your dentist if you have experienced recent hospitalization or surgery, or if you have recently been ill. Also tell the doctor the names, doses, and frequency of any medications you are taking – whether prescription or over-the-counter products – and the name of your physician. Inform the doctor of any changes in your health or medications. It is also important to bring up any fears you may have about dental treatment.

The information collected in your first visit will help the doctor select the safest and most effective method of treatment for you.
