Dr.David KaplanDMDDoctor
Dr. Kaplan grew up in New York City and graduated from SUNY New Paltz in 1973. His mother always told him that he couldn’t inherit the NYC Fire Department where his father worked so he followed his uncle’s role model and attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, graduating in 1977. He met his future wife, Jacqueline, at the U of P. They settled in the Albany area around 1980.
His professional affiliations include the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Schenectady Dental Society, and the local Implant Study Club. He received his implant training at the Boston Seminars for Implant Study in 1995 and received his orthodontic training and diplomate status with Light Force America in 2010. His list of continuing education courses is extensive. In recent years, it is highlighted by Institute for Comprehensive Implant Study and Esthetics in Boston, annual attendance at the Yankee Dental Congress in Boston, and Fourth District Meeting in Saratoga.
Dr. Kaplan and his wife like to travel each year and while they wouldn’t call themselves “globe trotters”, they had enjoyed seeing a good deal of the world. They are sports enthusiasts and enjoy skiing, cycling, and hiking. Both Emily and Aaron, their children, are excellent skiers and Dr. Kaplan has lived long enough to know the three most dangerous words in the English language, “follow me, Dad.” If you have read all through this, Dr. Kaplan would love for you to come to the office and meet not only himself but his excellent staff.

MaureenFront Desk/Dental Assistant
After working in the dental field for more than twenty years, from training in Albany to work for numerous dental offices, Maureen put down her roots in her hometown of Schenectady, NY with her two daughters. Maureen found Dr. Kaplan through her sister’s future husband, Dr. Tom Richard DMD, who had worked with Dr. K before. Maureen loved how progressive Dr. Kaplan’s dental practice felt and was very excited to work with him, so she took the job. Years later, Maureen also married a dentist who she had previously worked for right out of school. After reuniting further down the road, she joined yet another dental family. Now, Maureen works and dreams in dentistry, and loves every minute!

DianaOffice Administrator
After graduating from high school, Diana danced professionally on tour with a Russian Ballet Company for 4 years before coming back to the area to finish her bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. She received her degree in Choreography from Skidmore College in 1985. After college, Diana worked Corporate Banking with Key Corp and also worked as an independent choreographer/coach with multiple gymnastics companies. Diana joined the dental team as the front desk receptionist and has been with the practice for over 30 years.

CarolHygienist
Carol Rose was born and raised in Rotterdam, NY. She graduated from Hudson Valley Community College with a degree in dental hygiene in 1971. Carol has been practicing continuously since that time, joining Dr. Kaplan’s practice in 1983 when her first daughter turned a year old. Carol’s second daughter was born in 1985 and she continued to work part-time at Dr. Kaplan’s. Carol understands that the field of dentistry has changed greatly over the years. She is proud to say that the office has stayed modern by attending regular continuing education courses to be able to serve their patients with the most current trends in dentistry.
Showing and breeding Lhasa Apsos and Cavalier King Charles Spaniels had been Carol’s passion since 1975. She belongs to 2 local All Breed Kennel Clubs and several specialty clubs. She is currently the President of The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club of NENY and The Southern Adirondack Dog Club. Carol also enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with her 2 grandchildren. -
DanielleHygienist
Danielle joined Dr. Kaplan’s practice during the pandemic in 2020. Prior to becoming a dental hygienist, she received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Her favorite part of being a hygienist is seeing patient’s progression at each appointment towards happy, healthy smiles! In her free time she loves to hike in the Adirondacks, spend time on the lake, and travel with her husband, dog (Charlie), and cat (Norman).

ChristineDental Assistant
Christine has been a dental assistant for 16 years. Like Danielle, she also joined Dr. Kaplan’s practice during the pandemic. Christine truly loves to help make patients smile and feel comfortable. She enjoys spending her free time with her little girl, Lilyana. They love to play, cook and make fruit smoothies.
