Camelot Dental Group traces its origins to 1968, as the private practice of Raymond D. Johnston, D.D.S., on Henderson Rd. in northwest Columbus. Dr. Johnston built a practice focusing on the highest quality of dentistry, delivered with the utmost professionalism and compassion. Through the years, Dr. Johnston earned the reputation as one of the best dentists in Columbus, his practice thrived, and he became a part-time instructor at the OSU College of Dentistry. In 1986, Dr. Jeff Gibbs joined Dr. Johnston and the practice continued to grow rapidly. In the spring of 1989, they moved the practice to the Camelot Building on Knightsbridge Blvd. At that time, Drs. Johnston and Gibbs also welcomed the addition of Dr. Paul King.
In 1994, Dr. Johnston retired and Drs. Gibbs and King renamed the practice Camelot Dental Group. Drs. Gibbs and King formed a strong partnership and were committed to maintaining the high level of patient care and service the practice was founded on. The practice continued to grow and in 2013, Camelot Dental Group moved to its current location at the corner of Henderson Road and Riverside Drive. The new location provides the practice over 5,000 sq. ft. of state-of-the-art technology and comfort.
In 2017, Dr. Jeff Gibbs passed away following a yearlong battle with cancer. Dr. Gibbs set the standard for excellence in dentistry. He left a legacy of exceptional dental care, meaningful relationships with patients and staff, dental mission trips and extensive local community service. The doctors and staff of Camelot Dental Group continue to be inspired by the memory of Dr. Gibbs and his selfless example of compassionate dental care and service to others.
Camelot Dental Group welcomed the addition of Dr. Michael Cook in 2017 and Dr. Christopher King in 2020. Together, all the doctors are determined to continue the philosophy that has been the foundation of the practice since 1968. It is the belief and commitment to offer our patients the finest dental care in central Ohio; and to provide that care with sincere compassion, utilizing the most up-to-date techniques and technology. Drs. King, Cook and King are humbled by the legacy of Camelot Dental Group and look forward to a future of continued service to our patients and community.
