William J. Winget, D.D.S.

Dr. William James Winget (pronounced win-jet) was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  He grew up in Howard City and the Pierson area.  He graduated from Tri-County Area High School in 1993 as the Class Valedictorian.  Dr. Bill graduated from Michigan Technological University in 1998.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree in General Biology-Pre-Dentistry, and a small business thematic.  He then went onto Dental School at the University of Detroit-Mercy. While attending dental school he received a scholarship to help pay for the last three years of dental school with the United States Air Force.  While attending school he was in the USAF Reserves as a second lieutenant.  Upon graduation, he was given a commission as a Captain in the USAF.  He spent a year down in Montgomery, Alabama and was stationed at Maxwell Air Force Base.  While down in Alabama he completed training to obtain his private pilot license.  After his time in the Air Force, Dr. Winget started working as a dentist at Lakeview Dental Associates.  He has lived in Lakeview with his wife Sandra and their son John since 2003.

Dr. Winget enjoys spending time with his family.  They like to watch movies, John's sporting events, and staying active running. Dr. Winget has a passion for bowhunting and golf.  He likes to fish and loves anything to do with the outdoors. He plays the Banjo and is currently learning how to play the bass guitar.

Dr. Winget's main goal is to place his patients at ease and provide their dental needs in the most compassionate way possible. Dr. Winget takes pride in being gentle and informative.


Frederick E. Ranney III, D.M.D.

Dr. Frederick E. Ranney III, D.M.D. became part of the Lakeview Dental Associates family in January 2018.

Dr. Ranney was born in East Lansing, while his parents were students at Michigan State University and his father completed his degree in Veterinary Medicine. Along with much of his family, Dr. Ranney continued in the medical field. However, after joining his father on many vet calls throughout his young life, he opted for a field with better hours.

Returning to East Lansing, Dr. Ranney received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Michigan State University. He attended the University of Kentucky for his Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree, and then went on to earn a Certificate of Advanced Education in General Dentistry from the University of Louisville. He has practiced general dentistry throughout Michigan for 23 years, and practiced in Kentucky for 5 years prior to that.

For five years, while practicing in Mt. Pleasant, Dr. Ranney served as an adjunct professor for University of Michigan dental students, teaching and mentoring them during their externships.

Dr. Ranney enjoys spending time with family and friends. His hobbies include bird hunting, fishing, travel, and photography. He has been to Alaska on four occasions, allowing him to pursue each of his interests. He has a son, Eli, with whom he shares his love of the outdoors.

His extensive dental experience has allowed Dr. Ranney to provide exceptional patient care, from his skillful restorations to being sensitive and receptive to his patients’ concerns. His main objective is for his patients to be well informed, confident and comfortable with their dental treatment.
