Crowns

Guidelines Following Crowns, Inlays & Onlays

If you are experiencing tooth pain because of a crack, decay or an older filling, you do not have to suffer any longer. We can help improve your smile and your ability to eat normally with high-quality crowns and bridges. These best in class restorations have been proven to enhance the function and aesthetics of millions of patients. Why not learn what they can do for you?

Stability and Comfort

Major dental issues caused by traumatic injury to the mouth, or extensive decay can lead to significant discomfort. Fortunately, crowns and bridges made from high-quality materials can help restore your teeth for a more comfortable chewing experience. To correct significant tooth damage, we typically recommend crowns of a higher strength to ensure the utmost stability.

Dental Bridges

Bridges are similar to crowns in that they can create added stability and strength for worn or damaged teeth. The main difference between the two is that a bridge is designed to fill gaps left from missing teeth. By attaching the bridge to the anchor teeth on both sides of the gap, your bridge is virtually undetectable, and provides added stability when you chew. In fact, porcelain bridges look so much like your natural teeth that no one even has to know you have a bridge unless you want them to!

What to Expect

In general, you should expect two visits to our office in Garden City for your new crown or bridge. At your first appointment, we will prepare the tooth to receive a temporary crown, removing any decay as we go. Once we complete the preparation work, we will place the “temporary” on your tooth until your permanent crown is ready for placement. The temporary will enable you to talk and chew comfortably.

At your second visit, we will remove the temporary, adjust the permanent restoration as needed, then give all the time you want to confirm that it meets your expectations of appearance and comfort. Once we firmly cement the dental crown in place, you should expect to see a beautiful, natural-looking tooth.
