TEETH CLEANING
During a teeth cleaning, we not only thoroughly clean your teeth and gums of plaque, tartar and food buildup, but we also examine your mouth for signs of developing decay, gum disease, and oral cancer. That’s why we recommend you come to the dentist for a dental cleaning twice a year. This allows us to catch any problems early on, so we can begin treatment immediately.

After examining your teeth, our hygienist will provide recommendations as to how you can improve your at-home dental hygiene routine. We may recommend altering your brushing technique or flossing more often. We believe in the importance of educating our patients as to how to best prevent cavities or other detriments to your dental health, so you can have a healthy smile for a lifetime!

PERIODONTAL CARE
Periodontics refers to the structures surrounding the teeth, including the gums. If the gums are not cared for properly, you may develop gingivitis, which can then progress into periodontitis. Periodontitis can cause jawbone damage, tooth loss, and other severe consequences. That’s why, if we feel it is necessary, our team provides non-surgical periodontal cleanings, including gum scaling and root planing. During these procedures, we go beneath the gum line to remove bacteria, plaque, and tartar. Through these procedures, we can help prevent the development of periodontitis.

DIGITAL X-RAYS
Digital x-rays are an important diagnostic tool, as they allow us to find developing problems that cannot be seen during a visual exam. For example, they can help us discover impacted teeth, growths, and jawbone damage. Digital x-rays expose the patient to a significantly decreased level of radiation as compared to traditional x-rays, and they allow us to view the images immediately, as well as to easily view, store and share them if needed.
